The Defence Nutrition Australia Difference

Launched in May 2025 from a 2 year industry research project, Defence Nutrition Australia provides a unique blend of expertise from former serving personnel and industry professionals including meticulous risk management planning, operational planning including the synchronisation of efforts and effects. Representing a change from the ‘same old way’, we leverage modern information analysis, understanding center of gravities, agile maneuver theory and a networked approach as Australians work together on these complex problems.

2026 Operational Results

  • Present to Commonwealth ‘Sovereign Supply Accelerator’ plans for industry involvement.

  • Collaboration with Commonwealth relating to personnel feedback for nutritional requirements.

  • Launch Defence Nutrition Australia ‘Industry Uplift Program’ and website providing industry support to national security.

  • Complete Australian Industry Capability practitioner course for navigating Commonwealth contracts.

2025 Operational Results

  • Spearhead the discussion into Commonwealth for sovereign food capabilities for ration foods.

  • Submission to the ANU, National Security College ‘Thinking about national security’ community consultation.

  • Submission to the National Food Security Discussion Paper focusing on sovereign supply and strategic balance.

  • Direct discussions into Federal Government - Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries: National Food Council.

  • Present in CSIRO Shelf Stable Webinar Series: From war rations to reliability of supply chain. Why shelf stable, why now?

  • Correspondence with Australian Strategic Policy Institute relating to food security and defence strategy.

  • Cyber security for the food industry webinar planned for early 2026 with representation from Australian Signals Directorate, Australian Cyber Security Centre and National Office of Cyber Security.

  • Complete FaBA inaugural Growth Hub 12 week program.

  • Creation of the Australian Food Sovereignty Accord to provide industry support to the advocacy for change and provide industry a platform. 

  • Reach out and engage with numerous universities and think tanks such as UQ, UTAS, RMIT, ASPI, AIFST, CSIRO, FaBA, Griffith University to discuss solutions and opportunities to be involved, bringing our best minds to the task.

  • Direct connection into the defence network and Australian defence industry champions who are part of a team driving innovation, change and thought leadership into our defence industry.

Daniel provides an expertise in operations with over 20 years experience in the food industry, from farm work harvesting vegetables and fruit, to food manufacturing, retail stores and most recent experience is in brand development and commercialisation. Being raised in a rural food producing community allows an appreciation of the whole supply chain especially the human element of food production and economic impacts on rural communities.

Diverse experience includes service in the Australian Army, career development roles, leadership, management and business development including extensive experience in FMCG and account management with a strong desire to learn, grow and improve moving knowledge into capability. This experience brings to a well-rounded, strategically flexible approach to business and staff management.
